News of the project : Contamine-sur-Arve, France (1e CGEH students)

Soirée de remerciement du Rotary Club

Mercredi 11 mars, les élèves de 1ère CGEH se sont mis sur leur 31 pour remercier le Rotary Club de son aide financière pour leur voyage au Portugal. Pour l'occasion, toutes sortes de personnalités plus connues les unes que les autres avaient fait le déplacement: une dizaine de membres du Rotary Club dont le président du club de Bonneville, le maire de Contamine sur Arve, ou encore Gilles Lothe, journaliste au Dauphiné Libéré. Ils ont été accueillis avec un délicieux buffet préparé par notre Chef Cuisiner Julien Valour et son équipe (toasts et verrines au jambon cru, guacamole, financiers à la noisette, sans oublier la célèbre soupe clémentine-pomme), une présentation du projet par Eva, Joanna et Gregory, et un brillant discours préparé pour l'occasion par les élèves et présenté par Gregory. Totalement subjugués par ces efforts, ils ont remis à Mme Labaune un chèque de 4200€ pour aider au financement du voyage.
Grâce à toutes leurs actions et à l'aide du Rotary, le voyage pourra se faire: les 1ère CGEH se lèveront tôt le lundi 27 avril pour prendre un bus de la société Redbus puis s'envoler de l'aéroport de Genève vers 6h (du matin, oui oui!) avec Easyjet. Ils passeront ensuite la semaine à Alter do Chao dans un hôtel 4 étoiles avec piscine (après l'effort, le réconfort!), et feront des visites avec les élèves de l'école portugaise EPDRAC.

Thank you to the Rotary Club

Wednesday (March, 11th), the 1e CGEH students were all dressed up to thank the Rotary Club for its financial help for their travel to Portugal. A lot of famous people were there: ten members of the Rotary Club (among them was the president of the Bonneville's Rotary), the Contamine-sur-Arve's mayor, and Gilles Lothe, journalist for the "Dauphiné Libéré". They were welcomed with a delicious buffet, prepared by our Chef Julien Valour and his team (toasts and small glass with cured ham, guacamole, nut financier, without forgetting the famous clementine-apple juice), a presentationof the project by Eva, Joanna et Gregory, and a brilliant speech prepared for this day by the students and presented by Gregory. Litterally bewitched by all this efforts, they gave to Mme Labaune a 4200€ check to help financing the travel.
Thank to all the students' actions and the help of the Rotary, the travel will be a reality: the 1e CGEH students will stand up early on Monday, April 27th, to take a Redbus, then take off from the Geneva airport around 6 (am, yes, yes!) with Easyjet. They will spend the week in Alter Do Chao in a 4* hotel with swimming pool (after the effort, relaxation!) and will visit the region with students from the portuguese school EPDRAC.
